ConfidencePersonal development is something that can be so frequently overlooked when people decide that they want to become successful in life.  Regardless of where you currently are, either personally or professionally, your overall success in everything you do depends wholeheartedly on personal development.  It was actually just a few short years ago that I was being taught this exact same thing.  I literally had no idea what it was going to take to become successful in my overall life.  I was living an average lifestyle, working 9 – 5, barely making enough to get by, and never having money left over at the end of the month to enjoy my life and do things I really wanted to do.  Yes… I have a wonderful husband who loves supporting me in everything I do, but I knew there had to be a way for me to become successful in a profession.  Though I’d had much success in other aspects of my life, such as finding my perfect husband, I realized that I didn’t want to rely on him for everything.  I had always been an independent person, and wanted the chance to strive above and beyond what I’d ever done in the past.  It almost seemed impossible at the time, but I just knew deep down that I had it in me to succeed.  As I set off on my journey, I then realized how much I literally had no clue what it was going to take!  I began learning about network marketing and decided to get started in a home based business.  What I didn’t realize was that I just couldn’t get started and see success immediately.  Believe it or not, I was caught up in a lot of the false promises in the beginning.  I actually thought that my life was going to change financially in just a matter of weeks or maybe even months.  Needless to say when that didn’t happen, I was drained, frustrated and almost gave up on my dream.

After such an exhausting experience, I began doing some research on certain individuals who provide guidance for exactly what I was trying to achieve.  Once I learned the concept of personal development and what I needed to do to change myself internally, it all started falling into place.  But, this was not an easy process either.  As I began studying more and more about this fascinating subject, I realized that there was one major thing I was not doing properly.  That one thing, was the fact that my mindset was completely negative in every aspect of my business building efforts.  I finally realized what was holding me back, and why success seemed so far away.

The process of personally developing yourself is not complicated, but it can be very challenging.  It can be even more challenging when you’ve experienced a great deal of failure, which is what I had experienced in my previous endeavors.  Because I didn’t have much knowledge about how my mindset would affect my business, everything negative that happened in the process actually stayed with me and created a full-on negative mindset.  This is exactly why I was not progressing and falling deeper and deeper into a hole.

Now that I have mastered the process of personal development and found a way to remain focused on my goals, it has become one of my most favorite subjects to talk about.  This truly is the lifeblood of your business.  If you don’t grasp this and begin changing your mindset from negative to positive, you could learn all you need to know about your opportunity and still struggle to see results.  Personal development exercises are the single most important thing that should never be left out of your daily routine, whether you decide to work that day or not!  As a brief overview for this article, I have provided some simple strategies that you can begin immediately in order to start transforming your mind and your future.

Be conscious of your thoughts.  This is one of the first exercises I had been taught as I began studying personal development.  As you begin realizing your thoughts, you might be surprised at how many negative thoughts pop into your mind on a regular basis.  For example, you might think simple things like: I can’t, I’m broke, that will never happen, I’ll try, and the list goes on and on!  When you catch yourself thinking these thoughts, you must immediately become conscious of it and switch it to something positive.  So for instance, instead of saying I can’t… you say I can.  Everything negative that enters your mind can easily be changed to a positive.  However, this might prove to be quite challenging for some people.  If you’re very low on money and have tons of bills waiting for you, it might be a bit more difficult to say that you have all the funds you need.  But, it is extremely important to put this into practice.  If you keep thinking that you don’t have the money, you’ll never have the money.  It’s really that plain and simple.  I see it so often where people literally let their minds get the best of them, and it constantly holds them back from achieving their ultimate goals.  Don’t let that happen to you.  We all have it within ourselves to change our mindsets and our attitudes through personal development.  This will definitely take some time, especially if you’re battling with your finances.  Face the negativity and turn it to a positive immediately, and practice this technique every single day.  Think of it just like your daily exercises to keep yourself fit.  If you quit, you’re going to go right back to where you started in just a matter of time.  This is a daily exercise that will become second nature to you the more you do it, and it won’t be so difficult to bring positive scenarios out of any negative thought that ever enters your mind.  It’s a terrific way to live and those people who know you will begin to notice the change as you personally develop yourself.

Write a major goal down and keep it with you at all times.  Goal-setting is another major aspect of your personal development and I believe some people take this lightly.  One of the things that I’ve learned early on is to write a goal that you want to achieve on a small business card, or if you’re anything like me, put it in your note section of your phone.  Start with a certain dollar amount you wish to have in your bank account and set a realistic date (most people will use January 1 as a goal date).  My advice is to set your sights extremely high and never think that anything is impossible.  However, just remember if you’re looking to make millions, I would consider a 5-year goal to be somewhat realistic.  Don’t put something like making a million dollars overnight (we all know that typically doesn’t happen:).  So think of something that you feel can be accomplished and keep your statement in your wallet or your purse and be sure to look at it every day.  Read this goal out loud once in the morning and once before you go to bed.  You may be thinking that this seems a little extreme and out of the ordinary, but if you think about it, millionares and successful people are anything but ordinary.  By reading your goal and putting focus on it, you will eventually have it embedded in your subconscious mind.  By having this embedded, you will also have it committed to memory so you’re constantly thinking about it.  Just like those obnoxious songs that get stuck in your head and you just can’t seem to get it out of your mind.  This is actually something you’ll want stuck in your mind and you’ll find yourself repeating your goal instead of “that song in your head”.  Your subconscious mind is a very powerful tool and it must be programmed with all things positive if you want it to work to your advantage.

Watch motivational movies or videos.  There is a huge benefit to adding motivational DVD’s to your library at home.  As I’ve said before, implementing some type of personal development into your daily schedule is a must.  There are so many different entrepreneurial mentors and coaches out there that have developed a tremendous amount of material.  Having the ability to watch your favorite mentors in action on your own schedule will keep you on the right track.  Even after so many years of practicing personal development, doubts and fears will sometimes find a way to sneak into your mind.  When this happens, it can be very helpful to pop in a DVD to assist you in focusing on your goals instead of any setbacks that occur.  Just recently I’ve found a very helpful website that allows you to choose from hundreds of different products to assist you as you begin your personal development.  Just click here to view the selection and choose the items that are best for you.

Listen to audio CD’s or MP3 content.  If you are someone who is always on the go or spends a huge amount of time in the car, the CD’s or MP3 audios are definitely an easy way to incorporate your daily personal development into your busy schedule.  All it takes is a CD or MP3 player, which most of us already own, and you can listen to your favorite coaches and mentors while traveling.  As I noted above, the referenced website is also a great place to find audios and MP3’s.  Some of the most world-renowned mentors on the planet have provided everything you could possibly need in order to begin implementing your desired form of personal development on this one website.  So, choose your favorite and don’t waste any time.

Read self-help books.  This is actually my favorite way to practice personal development as I absolutely love to read.  There are numerous books out there on the subject.  I would also encourage you to think about some of the most influential people out there that are of interest to you.  More than likely there is a book written about them and their experiences.  It’s just another great way to incorporate a different style of personal development to your library.  Since I am a person who loves books, I’ve created a page on my primary business website that recommends certain books to my new team members to get them started.  Should you wish to view my recommended list, just click here.

As you can see, there is more information and content on personal development that you will ever be able to cover in your lifetime.  The key is to take a form that fits into your everyday life and get started as soon as possible.  I cannot express how truly important it is to begin implementing this life changing strategy.  It will prove to be the absolute best thing you’ve ever done.  As you begin to grow, others will notice you as a true leader and want to follow in your footsteps.  There’s nothing better than gaining that confidence and realize that you can conquer anything that comes your way.

As a person who has experienced the power of personal development first hand, I am a true believer that your business will either succeed or fail depending on how seriously you implement this practice.  Take it from someone who started out knowing nothing about the power of personal development.  I failed tremendously in business, and it wasn’t until I changed my mindset and my attitude that things started changing for the best.  The universe works in mysterious ways, but you will soon find out for yourself.  Take your personal development to the next level and literally witness your future fall into place right before your eyes.  I cannot express how awesome it feels and I want everyone to have the ability to feel it for themselves.

Please feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss your future.  I’m highly dedicated to assisting motivated and committed home business entrepreneurs achieve ultimate success.  Remember, the power to achieve even our most outrageous goals is within each and every one of us.  I’m certainly living proof of that and you could be too.  Don’t wait around for something to happen.  Begin developing yourself personally and set your sights high.  As opportunities comes your way, take massive action as if you knew you couldn’t fail.  Great things will happen if you remain confident and positive in your efforts.  Personal developmet is the ultimate first step.  If you’re considering getting into a business whether it be traditional or home business, don’t take that initial step until you’ve begun changing your negative thoughts.  You truly are what you believe.
